$99 · 4–5 business days · Rush $179 delivered within 36 hours · One free revision

Songfinch is the best-known name in custom songs. It started in 2016 and says it has delivered more than 350,000 songs. A lot of people search for a Songfinch alternative anyway, usually because of price, timing or a policy they found in the fine print. This guide covers what a Songfinch song costs, what its customers say, and which alternatives fit which situation. It also says when Songfinch is the better choice.

How much does Songfinch cost?

Songfinch prices start at about $179.99 for a custom song, but there's no single price. Songfinch's help center says “artists set their own prices,” and each artist's profile shows their rate. So the cost depends on three things:

• The artist you choose. Entry-level artists start near the advertised price. Popular and featured artists cost more; many sit around $199–$299, and a few charge several hundred dollars more.
• How fast you need it. Standard delivery takes up to 7 days. Faster delivery is a paid upgrade, down to as little as 24 hours. In our checks it ranged from about +$25 to about +$200 for next-day delivery, which can put a next-day Songfinch song near $400.
• Add-ons. Songfinch sells extras such as QR plaques, lyric prints and streaming release. Its policy says these are non-refundable once fulfilled.

For most people, a realistic Songfinch budget is about $180–$300 with standard delivery, or more if the date is close. For a side-by-side look at every major service, see our custom song price comparison.

What Songfinch reviews say

On Trustpilot, Songfinch has a 4.5 out of 5 TrustScore from about 23,600 reviews. Songfinch's own landing page shows 4.6. About 86% of Trustpilot reviews are 5 stars and about 3% are 1 star. That's a strong record for a company this size, and it's the main reason Songfinch is many people's first stop.

The patterns are more useful than the average. Reading through recent reviews:

• What happy customers mention: the emotional reaction when the song is played, artists who clearly used the details they were given, and helpful support.
• What unhappy customers mention: lyrics that felt generic despite a detailed story, melodies that felt repetitive, deliveries later than expected, and frustration with the refund and revision limits.

The complaints follow from the model. Because a different human artist writes each song, results vary from artist to artist, and the price depends on whom you pick. For a deeper look at both brands' reviews, see Songfinch vs Songlorious: prices and reviews.

Why people look for a Songfinch alternative

1. Price

With an entry price near $180 and popular artists higher, Songfinch is a premium purchase. If your budget is closer to $100, you need a Songfinch alternative, not a cheaper Songfinch artist.

2. Timing

Standard delivery takes up to 7 days, and every faster option costs more. If the birthday or anniversary is this week, the rush fee can cost more than the song itself.

3. No refunds after your artist starts

Songfinch's policy is clear: “Once your artist has accepted your order, refunds and cancellations are not possible.” That's common for custom work, but it's worth knowing before you pay $200+.

4. A short revision window

You get a lyric draft to react to, but if you don't respond within 24 hours, the artist records from their draft. After delivery, you have 72 hours to request free revisions. Bigger changes, like tempo or genre, can mean extra work or fees. After 72 hours, revisions aren't guaranteed. If you're ordering early for a gift weeks away, that window can close before you've really lived with the song.

Songfinch alternatives compared

Here is how the main alternatives to Songfinch line up on the things buyers ask about most: price, speed, who makes the song, and what happens if you want changes.

Songfinch and its alternatives: when each one wins

Songfinch: best if you want a specific human artist and have time

If it matters to you that a real musician wrote and sang the song, you're happy to pay $200 or more, and the occasion is more than a week away, Songfinch is a reasonable choice. Its artist pool and review history are the largest in the category. Pick an artist whose samples match the sound you want, and answer the lyric draft within 24 hours.

Storied Song: best for a personal song at about half the price, or a close date

Storied Song costs $99 for delivery in 4–5 business days, or $179 for delivery within 36 hours, with no artist tiers and no length surcharge. Storied Song uses AI music tools in the songwriting and production process to turn your story into a personalized song. Your answers about the person, a real memory, and the style and mood you pick shape the lyrics and the song. Every order includes one free revision, which you can request within 14 days of delivery instead of 72 hours. Our refund policy spells out when we refund, for example if the song isn't delivered on time or doesn't match the style you chose and a revision doesn't fix it.

The trade-off: you don't choose a named human performer. If that's the point of the gift for you, Songfinch or Songlorious is the better fit.

Songlorious: best if you want to hear the singer before you order

Songlorious, which appeared on Shark Tank, says it has delivered 300,000+ songs. It lets you browse artists and listen to them before choosing, and it prices by song length, from about $180 for two minutes. Standard delivery is a few days, and faster delivery costs extra. It rates 4.8 on Trustpilot from about 240 reviews, a high score from a much smaller sample than Songfinch's.

Instant AI song apps: best for a joke or a last-minute placeholder

Services like TunedForYou cost about $20 and deliver in minutes. Fine for a funny group-chat song. For an anniversary or a memorial, the lack of real personal detail usually shows.
